Can you fix your hair problems with supplements?
The short answer is, probably not.
The truth is, if you experience hair loss or other hair issues, taking supplements alone is unlikely to fix them. That’s because most hair loss and hair issues are not caused by nutrient deficiencies. At least not solely.
Supplements can only fix the problem if it’s merely caused by the lack of a certain nutrient or nutrients.
So, why could it still be a good idea to take supplements?
Hair is not your body’s top priority
As precious as your mane might be to you, it’s not your body’s top priority. When it comes to nutrition, the human body uses nutrients on vital functions first because… well, they’re vital (unlike hair).
This means that your strands may only get the leftovers once everything else has been “fed” in your body. And that might not be much if there wasn’t a lot to begin with.
That’s why nutrient deficiencies and sometimes even other health conditions tend to show first in your hair (and nails). It becomes weak, brittle, dry, and may even start to fall out, signalling that there could be an internal problem.
And that’s why it’s crucial to get sufficient amounts of nutrients so your body has enough left for your hair after the vital functions have been taken care of.
Is it possible to get all your nutrients from your diet?
Yes, it is! In fact, it’s always best to try and get as much of your nutrition from your diet as possible (unless, of course, otherwise advised by your doctor). However, it may not be a feasible option for some, while others might find it challenging. That’s when hair supplements can come in handy as a second line of support.

FAQs
-
How often should I take your supplements?
- Take 2 Hair Nutrient Tablets daily, either together or separately. For Bio-Silacumin®, add 2x10 or 1x20 drops to a cold drink or take them directly each day. The recommended daily dose should not be exceeded. Dietary supplements are intended to supplement the diet and should not take the place of varied diets.
-
How long does one jar of Hair Nutrient Tablets or Bio-Silacumin® last?
- There are 60 tablets in a jar, so they should last one month with 2 tablets taken daily. Similarly, Bio-Silacumin® is designed to last one month when taken as recommended.
-
Are your supplements vegan?
- Yes, both the Hair Nutrient Tablets and Bio-Silacumin® are vegan. The amino acids used in the Hair Nutrient Tablets are produced by fermentation.
-
Are there DHT blockers in your supplements?
- None of our products contain natural DHT blockers. Although they may be effective in supporting hair growth, we are awaiting more long-term research to be done on natural DHT blockers for supplements before incorporating them into our supplement formulas. In fact, many of these plant extracts are banned in Denmark due to a lack of evidence around them.
-
Can the Hair Nutrient Tablets and Bio-Silacumin® be taken together?
- We recommend speaking your healthcare provider if you wish to take both supplements as they provide more zinc (19mg) than the daily recommended intake (10mg). While this is still below the Upper Tolerable Intake (25mg/day), — the maximum amount considered unlikely to cause adverse health effects when consumed daily over a lifetime — it’s best to consult your physician.
